Idyllic conditions, consistent crafty waves and a laid-back housemate shenanigans are aplenty at the Stoke Beach House this week. We’re surfing until the sun goes down before dragging our sandy feet and salty hair to the in-house bar for some mad shred dog talk and kook slam laughs.
Manly Surf Report 28th FEBRUARY 2020
This week you’ll find a combo of long-period south swell and an underlying easterly wind swell. Most of the swell is marching tight past manly, but there’s still some 2 foot plus lines with light NW in morning swinging NE. There are a few lumps to be had all along the beach.
If you’re new to the greenroom and trying to avoid the classic noise, its best to get out there early with light NW winds to try your luck on some clean lines.
For those just starting out, you’re in luck, because with Manly Surf School every day is pumping for beginners, no matter the conditions. When it’s small, we’ll have a ball, and when it’s huge, there’s even more for us to play with. Hit up reception to get yourself booked in with one of Manly Surf Schools pro instructors.
What’s Happening this Week
The Beach House bar is now opening and selling some tasty Crafty numbers from our friends at Rocks Brewing Company.
The pints will be flowing in the house while we test the crew on our famous trivia night. Bring your best mate and best get up and join the shenanigans. This’ll surely be followed by some saucy dance movies at the local Hotel Styne or as the local call it ‘The Drain’.
Saturday night we’ll be starting early and getting amongst the world-renowned, extravagant celebration of all things “camp, queer and glamorous” Mardi Gras!
Shred Dog of the Week
The Shred dog of the week has to go to Julian, the Argentinian lord from southern Patagonia. Julian was seen cutting some serious shapes on the dance floor at the Styne on Friday night but backs it up with some clean-cut surfing on his single fin, drawing epic lines and showing the Patagonian is a style master.
