Our Guide To The Best Walks On The Beaches

OUR GUIDE TO THE BEST WALKS ON THE BEACHES…
Sydney’s Northern Beaches are some of the best in Australia. While Bondi and Eastern Suburb beaches are more of a tourist destination, the Northern Beaches make you feel like a local.

1. MANLY TO SHELLY BEACH

One of the best walks in Sydney is the Queenscliff to Shelly Beach walk. Almost completely flat, on the paved edge of Manly Beach, anyone can do it. If you’re limited on time, we recommend starting at Manly Surf Club instead of Queenscliff. Still magical, and you might spot a seal or two on the rocks. Better yet, take out one of the Stoke Beach Cruisers and feel that sea breeze in your hair.

And while you’re at Shelly beach, check out THE BOATHOUSE. A cute cafe/restaurant right on the edge of the sand, overlooking the beach.

2. NORTH HEAD

Look for more than a flat stroll along the beach?! Lace-up those sneakers and complete the North Head loop. This 10km loop takes around 2.5 hours to complete and takes you past some hidden gems. You’ll look out over the City, head over sandstone cliffs, and go through the old army barracks and quarantine station. With a few incredible spots to swim along the way!

3. CURL CURL BOARDWALk

This cliff-side walk is super easy for beginners but be cautious for those are a tad squeamish about heights. There’s often no railing acorss…just a 50ft drop into the ocean lol. Nah give it a go if you want some epic views of the waves and maybe spot some whales too!

4. DEE WHY TO LONG REEF HEADLAND

Perfect for a sunny day. It’ll definitely work those quads and calves to get from Dee why beach to the top of Long Reef golf course. While it’s quite a gradual incline, it’s a massive view from the top. Just don’t get too psyched out by the bench plaques that memorialise people struck by lightning up there :0

Time to get out those old sneakers or some comfy thongs (not the G string type) and get motivated. These tracks are a great way to take in the beauty of the beaches and even spot some wildlife every now and again.

If you’re keen to find out more…
