Spring Has Sprung
Only a week out of winter and we have already had a 28-degree day. Cliché title… We know, but fuck it! Last Thursday was a scorcher and everybody couldn’t help but say it, SPRING HAS SPRUNG. Sunnies were dusted off, hats were given a go, group chats were blowing up and the hostel was empty as everyone linked up to flock to the beautiful beaches that surround the hostel. Manly Beach, Shelley, Collins flat and North head are all a stone’s throw away, they were swarming with people taking advantage of the prime weather. In fact, I think people couldn’t stop buzzing for about a week in advance. As soon as someone caught wind of the forecast, hot horny weather excitement was like a ripple effect. It felt like a classic perfect summer day.
Not that we can even complain about the winter. The surf was absolutely pumping. Some serious winter swells pounded the coastlines. Local chargers became legends. Sand dwellers lined the cliffs of Deadman’s to watch the boys become men, the girls become women and the kooks become lords.
Now that the weather is heating up, the waves will inevitably be less gnarly. That means now is the perfect time for you to get some practice in! Lucky we have an epic deal with Manly surf school – rated the no#1 surf school in NSW.
We have cheap board hire with freebies every Thursday. If you’re not keen on the proper lesson, there are always a bunch of legends who are keen to take a couple of newbies down to Manly to give them their first taste of froth. For those more experienced crew, we love getting wet any chance we get and are there is someone is always amping up crew for a paddle.
We are stoked for the hotter weather coming through. Despite the obvious gloom of an ongoing global pandemic we honestly can’t imagine anywhere better to ride it out.
Surf rockers Skegs knows what’s up! feast your ears on this!
